Overview of the MScAC Program

Solve your most complex technological and business challenges by leveraging the expertise of MScAC graduate students.

What is the Master of Science in Applied Computing (MScAC) program?

Students in the program spend eight months learning from our world-famous University of Toronto faculty before putting theory into practice to innovate with an industry partner, giving you the competitive edge.

MScAC students are trained across a broad range of different research areas that span multiple industry sectors, including the full extent of Artificial Intelligence topics, Systems, Software Engineering, Robotics, Graphics, Quantum Computing, and so much more—the breadth of the program is as wide as that of your R&D challenges.

What are the benefits of hiring a MScAC student for an internship?

Our students are elite and ready to take on your industry challenges. Students in MScAC go through a rigorous admissions process, and many come with prior research and professional experience.

Students work on a wide range of projects. Be it assessing risk factors of bank loans, developing new approaches to cancer care or preserving Canada’s indigenous languages, MScAC students have proven to be impactful across a multitude of sectors in line with our industry partners’ objectives.

You can make an offer at the end! The internship is the final requirement for the MScAC program, so you can seamlessly transition your talented innovator into full-time roles.

Not only is there great curation of the students who go in, but they’ve also had eight months of graduate-level teaching by some of the world’s best professors in this field and there’s an eight-month internship that gives them an opportunity to continue to collaborate with professors at U of T.
